Excel: Random Number Generator
The Smart Monte Carlo Excel add-in allows you to study all kinds of processes using the Monte Carlo method. If you need to generate a statistical array of random values with a certain distribution function, you can use the Random Number Generator Tool:
- Start the tool:
- Select the ouput range of cells:
- Select one of the 12 available distribution types for the random value and its distribution parameters
- Uniform distribution
- Normal distribution
- LogNormal distribution
- Exponential distribution
- Cauchy distribution
- Gamma distribution
- Beta distribution
- Student distribution
- F-distribution
- Chi-Square distribution
- Poisson distribution
- Binomial distribution
- Geometric distribution
- Click the “Generate” button
The range of cells will be filled after that.
