It’s a great schedule but our good friends in higher places have decreed that NZDT will commence Sunday 30th September 2007 which will put NZ at GMT +13 which is just outside the range of the schedule. Any chance of having the range of hours extended for us poor Antipodeans?

  2. johnmi, 22. August 2007, 3:36

Can you have a version where you can change the GMT for New Zealand?

  3. Excel Trick, 22. August 2007, 21:47

Done. Now you can use GMT for New Zealand (New Zealand DLS). Please download new version.

  4. tonyceenz, 24. August 2007, 6:04

    Hi again,

I see you have altered the data to take into account the participating nations - nice touch. Unfortunately, you are showing both time settings for NZ as GMT+12 when the NZDLS will be GMT+13

    Cheers,

    Tony

  5. Excel Trick, 28. August 2007, 8:21

    Tony,
    7-29 Sep — GMT+12
    30 Sep - 20 Oct — GMT+13

I just stumbled upon this Spreadsheet. What a gem and thanks for allowing for the time difference for New Zealand.

  7. Ireland to win, 29. August 2007, 14:35

This is great for Work sweeps - Any chance you could add another column by the pools so we could add names besides the teams.?

  8. tonyceenz, 30. August 2007, 4:49

My apologies for doubting you - I was looking at the earlier dates rather than scrolling down - your logic is impeccable

  9. Hudson, 31. August 2007, 12:27

    Hi
What about a GMT for South Africa dude we don’t have day light saving like the English so there don’t count.

  10. chris, 31. August 2007, 13:23

Nice one, now I’ll be able to keep track of what’s happening.

  11. Raymond, 2. September 2007, 7:43

This is great, but how to highlight your supporting team?

  12. Sazki, 3. September 2007, 3:48

Got the spreadsheet but how about the outlook upload in GMT+12/13

  13. Cade, 3. September 2007, 7:40

I’d really also like to make some alterations to the sheet to add columns for work sweeps, adjust the game times to Perth time etc, are we able to get the unlocking password?

  14. Jeremy, 3. September 2007, 11:24

    Thanks! This is awesome!

Can someone just help me out with the GMT thing? My timezone (South Africa) is the same as France during the world cup - so I don’t even need to change the timezone I just need the original!

    Anyone? :-)

  21. Excel Trick, 5. September 2007, 11:07

Can I set it for argentinean time (GMT -3)?

Use dropdown list and find: BRASILIA (GMT - 3:00)

I don’t even need to change the timezone I just need the original!

    Original time (France): C.EUROPE (GMT + 2:00)

Many thanks for the cool spreadsheet…let battle commence! C’mon England! (think the AB’s may just have it tho’)

  30. John, 7. September 2007, 15:31

Your spreadsheet looks like a godsend. My sons & I look forward to filling it out as the contest moves forward. Just a tech question. I have opened the spreadsheet in Open Office with macros enabled. I imagined the first game (France won against Argentina) entered scores pressed enter key - nothing happened! no forward calculation - no evidence of macro working. What should I do? OO calc is Excel compatible.

  31. Peter, 7. September 2007, 20:13

This is a quality tool except that the original time is incorrect. The local time for games should be GMT + 1. All kick-off times are local French time (UK+1)

Take a look at the following on:

  33. Gerhard Muller, 7. September 2007, 22:12

Everyone seems to be able to get this spreadsheet to work. I always get “File error: data may have been lost” and it does not work. I have tried it on three PC’s and get the same error.

  34. em, 7. September 2007, 22:19

    this is sooooooooooo cool thanks…

  35. Jon1972, 7. September 2007, 22:39

I don’t know if this is the place to report errors but when I inputted the first score results for France and Argentina 12-17 it gave france a bonus point without even putting anything in the try box. England wont win played well last world cup but are a shadow of their former selves

  36. pete, 7. September 2007, 23:12

Why does your spreadsheet give France a bonus point for a loss today?

  37. Jon1972, 7. September 2007, 23:33

Its okay i relise now from my collegue that you get an extra point for losing by less than 7 points. fantasic spreadsheet keep up the good work.

  38. Gaz, 8. September 2007, 8:07

There’s something up with the bonus point data - I’ve just input the France Argentina score and France have gained a bonus point

  39. Veronica Schmitz, 8. September 2007, 18:57

Am avid rugby fan - support the Springboks. Thanks for a great spreadsheet. Veronica

  40. John, 8. September 2007, 21:22

It is ok. Scores entered and it works in Open Office. Dont know what I was doing before.

  41. Adie Anema, 9. September 2007, 9:35

    Hi Guys,

Please could you assit me, I am a novice at excel formulas, but if you could assit me with the formula, that you are using to put the team names in the pool games automatically in order once the scores are entered.

i.e. The highest points at the top and the lowest points at the bottom in any given spreadsheet.

    Many Thanks
    Adrian

  42. Philip Bodeanstaff, 9. September 2007, 10:14

    Hello Great Sheet,
however I wonder why England did nit get a binus point on the Excel sheet. I thought that if they win with more that 7 points a bonus would be awarded. Is that correct?

    Many Thanks.
    Philip

  43. Stefan, 9. September 2007, 14:11

How can this Rugby World cup schedule programme be downloaded into Windows Microsoft Outlook?

  44. Chris, 9. September 2007, 15:05

Great chart - my version has registered France’s bonus point but unfortunately not the bonus point for Australia, Wales and New Zealand.

  45. Chris, 9. September 2007, 17:04

My fault - I’ve now filled in the tries column and low and behold everything is in order.

  46. Pacifica, 10. September 2007, 0:59

hey thanks Excel Tip..can see the schedules with the Pacific time added ;)

Other than that it looks great!

  49. Peter, 10. September 2007, 5:10

Its OK now ta, closed and reopened OK.
    Cheers

  50. Lee, 10. September 2007, 8:01

Everyone: The Points work as follows:

    Win - 4 Points
    Draw - 2 Points
    4 Tries or More - 1 x BP
LOSE by 7 points or less - 1 x BP

Excel Trick - any chance of a getting a PD (Points Differential) column?

  51. Stu, 10. September 2007, 8:17

Fantastic Spreadsheet, I love these things!

For safas, you can download the fixtures to Outlook at http://dontmissagame.googlepages.com! Anybody else can use it too, just not sure how the time zones will work for you!

  52. Natalie, 10. September 2007, 10:30

The bonus points are not showing after putting in scores
    thanks

  53. John Lim, 10. September 2007, 10:55

The spreadsheet does not give the bonus points to teams scoring more than 4 tries in the match. Can that be corrected?

According to the RWC rules , the following number of Match points will be awarded for each pool phase Match:

    Win 4 points
    Draw 2 points
4 or more tries 1 point
Loss by 7 points or less 1 point

  57. Lucia, 11. September 2007, 12:36

Great Spreadsheet, Tkx & obviously it is going to be a Springbok Victory!

  58. Lucia, 11. September 2007, 13:13

Great spreadsheet, tkx. Yes, what else can I say, watch the Springboks, especially Habana, our favourite Blue Bull. It is going to be tough, but we will bring the Trophy back where it belongs.

  59. Robin Stephens - Indonesia, 12. September 2007, 2:51

Can you show the day as well as the date ?

  60. Ian Lindsay, 15. September 2007, 4:14

Thanks for a great spreadsheet.!!!. Dark horses Japan and Georgia in the finals.!!! They have a secret plan.!!

  61. Warren, 17. September 2007, 7:32

    Hey Excel trick

Great spreadsheet, thanks so much, but the column for the scores in the group boxes (column o) is too narrow, so that you can’t see the points for and against clearly. Please can you send the password to change it or change it yourself and then send me the new spreadsheet?

    Thanks very much.

    Warren

  62. Bert., 17. September 2007, 8:30

Rugby World Cup - Please widen the column for Points For and Points Against, numbers do not fit in.

  63. Alan, 17. September 2007, 12:26

    Hi,
Could you please siden the points for and against columns as 100 points and greater is not legible?
    Thank you.

    Alan

  64. Alan, 17. September 2007, 12:43

    Hi,
Number of games for last three teams in all pools not updating - currently shows that last two have not played nay games at all although other data seems to be correct
    Alan

  65. Leon, 17. September 2007, 12:51

The F-A column is too narrow to accomodate more that 99 points. Can you change the font to condensed, remove the spaces on either side of the hyphen, or increase the width of the cells?

  66. Fritz, 17. September 2007, 13:58

I would greatly apreciate it if you could provide me with the unlocking password as score higher than 100 points don’t “fit” in the columns. Great Spreadsheet Excell Tricks!

    Watch the Bokke go!

  67. Tim Firth, 18. September 2007, 11:30

What a fantastic way of keeping up with all the results!

    Very smart too!

    Come on ENGLAND!

  68. Stu, 21. September 2007, 0:50

Thx guys…fantastic spreadsheet…but as per previous comments, any way to get the Points F-A column widened so you can see how they’re travelling…

    Cheers

  69. Maria, 21. September 2007, 5:49

Thanks for fixing the F-A columns.

Great work! Not only good to keep a record of results and check points and stuff, but also to keep track of the time at the games are starting :D

A points differential column would be nice though.

  70. Ian Lindsay, 22. September 2007, 0:10

Georgia & Japan still on track for finals!!!

  71. jimfoster, 23. September 2007, 14:55

    Hello,
I used your schedule during FIFA World Cup 15 monthes ago
I’m French (sorry for my English) and is a French version foreseen ?

  72. Ted Roczynski, 27. September 2007, 7:59

    Great spreadsheet!!!
I would like to ‘unprotect’ the spreadsheet to insert the names of the quarter finalists etc. so that I can add this spreadsheet to my Rugby World Cup collection.
Could you please let me have the unlocking password so that I can make the changes.
    Many thanks
    Regards
    Ted
    Cape Town

  73. andrew, 6. October 2007, 18:02

What is with the whole thing of 6 hours between kickoff’s. Clearly the french have no respect for poeple living in any other part of the world. Well thats all good as they will not be in the cup final any more after tonight.

  74. andrew, 6. October 2007, 18:08

so it is always going to be a SA NZ final. If the french could just set the games so that we don’t have to go and have a three hour sleep between games, Knoblokkies. I am now sitting and waiting for the next game to come on and have to sit for three hours untill it happens, come on you silly frogs get it sorted, it is the quater finals after all.

  75. John Denley, 6. October 2007, 19:57

Think you are missing the point Ted, the quarter finals teams update automatically when they are known from the rest of the results you have put in!

Fabulous to see England in the semi final lineup already on my sheet ;) :P

Couldnt find anywhere else to make this suggestion, as it was an excel program i was trying to put together about 4 weeks ago when my best friend was in labour, I was trying to time contractions, and was so exhausted that i kept making mistakes, and tried to write a spreadsheet that would allow me to press a button at the start of each contraction, then another button at the end of the contraction (or the same button) then compile a table (and/or graph) to show how long each contraction was and what the gap between them were….

  76. Amir Saidani, 8. February 2008, 18:09

Could you do a fifa world cup qualifiers sheet for europe or all the confederations and the 6 nations by at the latest next sunday
    Pleese !!
