Ice Hockey World Championship 2020 Schedule
Follow the fixtures and matches of the Ice Hockey World Tournament which is set to hold this year. As announced by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) the matches of the tournament are set to begin in 2020 and will be held from May 8 to May 24, 2020. The seeding of the teams into two different groups, eight teams in each, for the preliminary round is determined by the world ranking of countries after the 2019 IIHF tournament and the seeding is done using the serpentine system. Since the 2013 edition of this tournament, there has been no qualifying round for teams to advance to the next stage of the event, rather, each team within a group is expected to play against the other seven teams in the preliminary round to qualify for the quarter-finals. Four teams with the highest points in each group after the preliminary round advances to the quarter-finals and the team with the least points get relegated into the 2021 division I A.
